FAQ

Q: How do I upload my photos to Family Album?
A: Click on the album you wish to upload to, and then click "Submit a Photo." Once you fill in the required fields, you must wait for the photo to be approved by Adoptive Families.

Q: What types of photos can I upload to Family Album?
A: We want to see pictures of your family—silly, formal, candid, all of the above! Family friends (non-adoptive included) and pets are welcome (just make sure to have permission from all non-family subjects).
Please do not upload images that are retouched in any way, or that are out of focus, underexposed or overexposed, unless it's done artfully. Please pay attention to composition and photo quality.
Do not upload your non-photo artwork, photos that you've found on the Internet, stock or celebrity photos, copyrighted material by someone else, screenshots, or panoramic or oddly sized photos. Adoptive Families retains the right to accept or reject photos that have been uploaded on the basis of content.

Q: What types of files may I upload?
A: Family Album Online only supports jpgs, of any size. (You can save your file as a jpg in most photo programs.)

Q: Is there a limit to the number of photos I can upload to Family Album?
A: Each user may upload up to six images per user session.

Q: Can I access my original images? What if I want to remove one of my images or need to correct something?
A: Unfortunately, Family Album is meant to be for community sharing, not photo storage. We suggest you keep a backup of the hi-res images you've uploaded.
If you need to make a change to a photo caption or would like to remove a photo you have uploaded, please contact familyalbum@adoptivefamilies.com.

Q: Why did I have to enter my e-mail address to upload photos and post comments? Will I start getting spam and junk mail?
A: Family Album Online users submit their e-mail addresses and create user names to facilitate the functions offered on the site. Adoptive Families will not use any user information for any purpose other than those defined in the terms of use without explicit consent from the users.

A: Captions are up to you (including your child or children's fist name(s), age, and/or place of birth), but please be mindful of the fact that Family Album photos may be viewed by the public.

Q: I uploaded a photo to an album. Why isn't it showing up?
A: All photos go through an approval process before they appear on the site. If you've uploaded an image that falls into a category or includes content we don't accept (as specified above), we won't approve it. Otherwise, it will show up in the appropriate album once it is approved.
